brewcalc — Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

brewcalc is developed and operated by Ihor Neverovskyi ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how the brewcalc mobile application ("brewcalc", "the app") handles information. It applies to the brewcalc app distributed through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

2. Data we collect

None. brewcalc does not collect any personal data or usage data. Specifically, the app does not:

• collect, request, or store your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact or identity information;
• require or offer the creation of a user account or login;
• access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, location, or health data;
• contain analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or any tracking technology;
• include third-party advertising or marketing SDKs;
• track you across other apps or websites owned by other companies.

3. How your information is handled

brewcalc is an offline calculator. Any values you enter — such as gravity readings, water volumes, salt additions, or malt parameters — are used only to perform calculations locally on your device, in real time. These values are not transmitted off your device, are not sent to us, and are not shared with anyone.

The app does not connect to the internet to perform its functions and does not send your inputs or results to any server.

4. Data we share or sell

Because brewcalc does not collect any personal data, we have nothing to share or sell. We do not share, rent, or sell information to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

5. Optional tips (in-app purchases)

brewcalc offers an optional, voluntary "tip jar". Tips unlock nothing and are never required — every calculator works identically whether you tip or not. If you choose to leave a tip, the payment itself is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; brewcalc never sees your payment details. To validate the purchase receipt and prevent fraud, an anonymized purchase record (the transaction and a randomly generated anonymous identifier) is processed by our purchase infrastructure provider, RevenueCat. This record is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising. This is reflected in the App Store privacy label as "Purchases — Data Not Linked to You". 6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA) or the CCPA (California) give you rights over your personal data — for example, the right to access, correct, delete, or export it. Because brewcalc does not collect any personal data, there is nothing held by us for you to access, correct, delete, or export: your inputs and results exist only on your own device, under your own control, and you can remove them at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. If brewcalc's data practices ever change, this section will be updated to describe how to exercise these rights.

7. On-device storage

Any preferences or saved values that the app may store (for example, your chosen units) are kept on your device only using the operating system's standard local storage. This information never leaves your device. Removing the app from your device deletes this local data.

8. Required-reason device APIs

Like most apps built with modern mobile frameworks, brewcalc may use certain standard system APIs (for example, local app settings storage and file timestamps) that the platform requires developers to declare. These APIs are used only for the app to function correctly on your device. As declared in the app's privacy manifest, this usage involves no tracking and no collection of data that is linked to your identity; any such data is processed only on your device.

9. Children's privacy

brewcalc does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no data collection, advertising, or social features.

10. Links to other resources

Some calculators (for example, the mash pH calculator) include citation links to external reference sources, such as published brewing-science articles. These links lead to third-party websites that we do not operate or control, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Following such a link is optional and is never required to use any calculator in the app.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the "Effective date" above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
